Miho Tanaka, who grew up in Japan, has been living and pursuing her interest in watercolors in the Philadelphia area for many years. Through her watercolors, Ms. Tanaka focuses on expressions of nature, reflecting beauty, hope, warmth, cold, delight, etc. She does not consider her painting realistic, but semi-abstract, expressing her feelings about nature. She hopes to share these feelings with other people through her work.
Miho Tanaka has exhibited in group and solo shows in Japan, Philadelphia and Virginia. Among her many awards are the Daniel Smith Art Supplies Award from Philadelphia Watercolor Club, Fairmount Park Purpose Award sponsored by the city of Philadelphia, first prize at an Atlantic City watercolor competition and “Award of Merit” in the Watercolor Show at Perkins Center for the Arts.
