Meed Barnett was born in Greenwich Village, NY, raised in Woodstock, NY, and surrounded by the art and influenced by many fine painters at an early age including her grandfather Rudolf Wetterau. Barnett’s art is inspired by her own life history - a year in an Episcopal convent, living with a Dutch family and later, with a French family plus her everyday life. She has also been a camp counselor, English tutor, dental assistant,welder, singer, refugee resettlement worker and is an art teacher at St. Nicholas School in Egg Harbor. Barnett is the recipient of multiple awards and her work is held in private collections across the country.
Sunday, August 12th at 5pm is Gallery 50’s annual “Low Country Boil”. It is graciously hosted by Linda and Ned Young. Overlooking the Cohansey River, you will enjoy ‘Frogmore Stew’ (traditional southern meal of fresh corn, kielbasa, shrimp, and potatoes prepared by the Youngs), wine, cool beverages, and homemade desserts baked by Gallery 50, Inc. board members.
