R. DENNY BLEW
R. Denny Blew lives and paints in Cumberland County, NJ. His early artistic influence was Winifred Garrison with whom he studied acrylic painting. Recent influences include Stan Sperlak who introduced Mr. Blew to the principles and possibilities of pastels which is what he will be showing in this exhibition along with handmade wooden benches.
Two of Blew's pastels were chosen for Millville, NJ’s “Postcards in the Mail” contest. His pastel, “It’s Surreally Great in Millville” (16”x20” pastel), was pre-awarded “Giclee of the Year, 2009” for the Riverfront Renaissance Center.
Woodworks in Collections: “American Table” is installed in the Bridgeton Public Library, and “American Pie Table” is installed in the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts.
Blew also holds degrees from the American College of Quito, Ecuador and Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture.
"I paint because I have a need to create and a want to give. Art fulfills both. By reaching inside and mining something that didn’t exist before, I keep my sanity while repaying my debt to society. No one could strike a better arrangement than that!" – R. Denny Blew
