Works by
Diane Spellman-Grimes
Diane Spellman-Grimes has studied extensively, both as an artist and as a dancer and is currently the Chair of the Art Department at Immaculata University. Using the movements of the human body and nature, Ms. Spellman-Grimes works intuitively, looking for an immediate response and representing it in her art work. Historically, dance has been an inspiring subject of study for artists. In her art, Spellman-Grimes combines the sensations of classical dance with modern by also using jazz and contemporary music for inspiration. A workshop and lecture are scheduled with Ms. Spellman-Grimes on Thursday, March 29, 2007, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. It will feature a talk showing the relationship of the history between dance and art. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to paint and sculpt using a live model.
