"Gerber in Purple" ~
Reta Sweeney
"I paint from life, in oil and pastel, and I paint the things I love....like the new greens of spring on the marshes, still life and flowers in the winter, views from my window, and people.... always people. I strive to find the essence of the thing..... and sometimes it works.....and when it does, it's a joy." - Reta

From "Leaves" Series ~ Lucartha Kohler
"My leaf project began in the Fall of 2001. I was delivering work to the Woodmere Art Museum and happened to notice a large, beautiful leaf on the ground at my feet. I commented to my helper from the Museum on it’s size and beauty and they remarked, 'there is a whole tree full of them over there' I began to look at other leaves, noticing their colors. It was Fall and lots of exciting colors were around. I also noticed while looking at the leaves on the trees how much their colors looked like the colors of cast glass..." - Lucartha Kohler

"Autumn Storm" ~ Verna McClain
“As primarily a landscape painter in pastels, I attempt to capture the mood and spirit of the marshes, forests, fields, farms and backroads that are my subjects, and to evoke the rhythms and patterns of the natural cycle. I paint both en plein air and in the studio from sketches and photo references. - Verna McClain
